Plastometer PM 04n

   This instrument is designed to measure plastic properties of coal. This is done by putting constant torque on a stirrer that has been pressed with the measured material in a retort. The test corresponds to the norm ASTM D2639 - 08 Plastic properties of coal by the constant-torque Gieseler plastometer. The sample with the stirrer is pressed with the stirrer in a retort, which is then immersed in a bath. The starting temperature is usually 300°C and constant torque is put on the stirrer. While measuring RPM of the stirrer, the temperature is increased at the speed of 3°C per minute.

   The plastometer is controlled by an external PC, the software works with Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system (32 or 64 bit). Communication proceeds via Ethernet interface. The software also allows the calibration and automatic and manual evaluation of the measurement results and the creation and export (print) of protocols. A single PC may be connected to more instruments simultaneously.
